On 11 July 2023 we hosted a breaking ground ceremony on the Oriel site to officially mark the start of construction.
Prior to breaking ground, six buildings on the Oriel site were demolished. The foundations for our 10-storey, 47,000 sq. m, centre have been laid. The new centre will be located in the heart of the Knowledge Quarter, an internationally renowned hub for science and innovation.
Progress continues at pace on the site of our new centre for eye care, research and education in Camden. Bouygues UK, our construction partner, captured time lapse footage from the site during January – May 2024. The video (approximately two minutes) shows the building emerging from the ground; we expect to reach the highest level of the building, level 10, by the end of this year.
