Associate Professor Mahi Muqit

Mr Mahi Muqit is a senior consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Associate Professor at UCL, specialising in cataract, medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery. With thousands of successful procedures and over £2million in research funding, he is internationally recognised for his expertise in treating age-related macular degeneration (AMD), epiretinal membranes, macular holes, diabetic eye disease, and retinal detachment. Mr Muqit has a special interest in complex lens implant exchange surgery. He is actively involved in global eye health initiatives and complex clinical research trials at Moorfields UCL.

He offers a bespoke and personalised approach to his patient care. Patients value his precision, innovation, and dedication to restoring sight through tailored surgical solutions. He is leading a pioneering new PRIMA retinal implant service to restore vision to blind patients with dry AMD at Moorfields Private.
